The Future of Pakatan Rakyat

Is there a future for Pakatan Rakyat?

The results of the 12th General Election catapulted PR into instant prominence. It deprived BN of the 2/3 majority in the Parliament and dethroned BN in four States namely Penang, Perak, Selangor and Trengganu.

PR did not do too well in East Malaysia at that time. If it could secure half the Parliamentary seats at the next General Election and maintain its results in the above four States, BN power would be gravely undermined. It might even lose the corridor of Power.

Perak was rather unfortunate in that its power was usurped by BN through foul and unethical manoeuvring and buying over of three DAP MPs. The President of the Perak State Assembly was clearly kidnaped and locked up in a room nearby while the BN took the stage to overthrow the PR State Government. Despite the disputes were referred to the High Court, it was quite apparent that the judge(s) who heard the case(s) was/were obviously biased and did not interpret the laws and regulations governing the organisation and administration of the State Assemblies in the country.

The aftermath spoke of the ire and wrath of the Perakians after the usurpation. They will not so easily forget the foul play nor will they be too forgiving when it comes to politics. The Perakians will make sure that the BN will never see the light of day at the next general election.

How did PR perform in those States they govern? As far as Penang, Selangor and Kelantan are concerned, I must say they do pretty well given the time they took over the respective governments. I must give top marks to Penang seeing the social projects that it had introduced so far. Selangor is embroiled in tussles with the BN over Shabas take-over, interreligious disputes, defiling and torching of placews of worship, corruption cases etc. Kelantan is quite uneventful while nothing can be said at this point for Perak as it never really got started before the debacle came down hard on PR.

What can PR learn from the past two years concerning the candidates it fielded in the 12th GE and won. While many were excellent candidates in terms of contribution, hardwork and enthusiasm, there are some black sheep that have tarnished the image of PR. There are of course some turncoats and traitors who would sell their souls for money. Hence, the leadership must pay particular attention to selection of candidates for any federal and states elecdtions.

One glaring weakness within PR is volunteering too much of its plans and projects to to the public before they were finalised. They must discuss these matters secretly and ensure that the component parties are involved. All parties must agree to a certain plan of action before it is released to the public for its information.

Interparty dissension and disputes are likely to destroy PR. Hence all party leaders must take note that they do not go into the open to voice their disagreements. Disagreements and misunderstanding have to be thrashed out within the party. This strategy is important if PR is to survive the next election.

Future PR leaders must keep abreast with the social economic changes and adapt themselves thereto. The swing is towards a competent, accountable and transparent government that cares for the welfare and development of her human capital.

Best of luck to PR

UMNO Subjugation & Suppression Policy

Ever since the May 13, 1969 racial riot, Malaysia has never been the same. The aftermath saw the formation of the National Operation Council headed by our late PM Tun Abdul Razak who was then the Deputy PM to Allahyaham YAM Tunku Abdul Rahman.

When Tunku appeared on TV in the evening of 13 May, 1969, he was in tears when he announced that the racial riot had broken out. His dreams to turn Malaysia into a peaceful and harmonious country was completely shattered. Never did the Tunku at any point in time ever expect that a racial riot would happen or take place in the country. All the while he thought that the people and the leaders of the Alliance were happy, tolerant and were prepared in concert to work together towards a better tomorrow for the people's children and children's children. That was his main reason to struggle for Merdeka.

I remember a curfew was soon proclaimed. The military was having a field day shooting those who broke the curfew. Many innocent died and property was gutted in fire in and around Kampung Baru. Numerous vehicles were overturned and torched. Corpses were seen lying the streets around the Chow Kit and Ipoh Road area as well as spotted flowing down the Klang River.

An analysis of the cause of the riot was conducted and much blame was attributed to the opposition party for its unruly it over jubilant victory procession which provoked the Malays and those supporters for the Alliance Coalition.

The British colonialist was blamed for its divide and rule policy with respect to vocation - Malays relegated to the padi fields and farms, Indians to the mines and railways while the Chinese to the business sector. As a result, the Malays remain subjugated and impverished.

The NEP was propounded with a view to eradicate poverty and address the economic imbalance among the Malays. The objectives of the NEP were noble but somehow in the course of three decades or so, UMNO became avaricious and found out that wealth was so easily realised through the corruption path. They found that majority of the Malays were poor and were unable to compete with the other races. Hence, many give-away policies were fomulated to help the Malays succeed in business, in education, in loans and scholarships, in lowering the entrance criteria for entry into public universities, issuance of APs, conception of GLCs and secured control in practically all the sectors of business, industries, civil, police, military. para-military and essential service sectors. Then, the non-Malay organisations were forced to offer 30% of their corporate equities to the Malays; many of the government services were privatised into the hands of the UMNO cronies. In addition, projects were proffered to the Malays without tender being called. In an ruthless manner to address the corporate sector, successful non-Malay run companies and public companies were acquired through public funds.

While the above multi-pronged actions were taken, the UMNOputras made use of Islam to control the Malay masses by introducing policies to compel compliance through punitive intimidation. Meanwhile, the islamisation and malayisation processes came into play. Many unkoranic policies and practices were introduced so that many found little space for exercising their freedom and rights as enshrined int the constitution. This mainly caused many Malays who graduated from abroad to stay back and refuse to return to serve the Government. Many did not even pay back their loans.

UMNO now try at all cost to maintain and perpetuate its power base as long as it is possible to govern the country. It must have realised without which, the leaders and cronies will not be able to gain access into plundering, siphoning and squandering the country resources.

The NEP has failed miserably because UMNO has failed to implement the main thrust of the NEP fairly, objectively and equitably. There is nobody to blame except the standtofish and corrupt UMNO leadership.

Power. UMNO has, abuse of which is and has been profusely blatant to the point of corruption. It makes use of all GLCs and national resources to corrupt the Malay masses by giving them the impression that without UMNO, they would lose everything.

Now some of the UMNO lackeys are now advocating Ketuanan Melayu and calling the other races pendatang and trying to justify their legitimacy to be the princes of the soil and robbing the resources of the country at their whims and fancies. It relaxes the importation of Indonesians, Bangladeshis and those from the middle east countries by the millions with a view to dilute the demographic ratio of the non-malays in the country. There were granted PR and given the blue identity cards. This practice is indeed "traitorous" and "anti-national".

The only way out now for UMNO is to subjugate the opposition and those who support the opposition parties through the draconian ISA. Besides, they apply the suppression strategy to the Malays through stiffer religious regulations and practices to leave Islam. Besides, it makes apostasy a crime for all other religions attempting to convert muslims away from Islam.

Subjugation and suppression cannot last for long. The truth must come out and the people must be set free to determine their lives. UMNO will continue to suppress the non-Malays through its discrimatory social economic policies. It will continue to stall the thousands of non-Malay applications for citizenship and permanent residency status. They will continue to discriminate the non-Malays from pursuing their desired courses in the public universities, the award of scholarships or study loans, employment promotional prospect in the civil, police and miliary services, business opportunities and government projects. It will rather give the projects to foreign companies than to local non-Malay firms who have the capabilites and competencies.

Let us see what wil happen to UMNO. The people must be prepared to effect a change of government. Look at Penang, Kelantan and Selangor and see what the Pakatan Rakyat have acheived during their terms of office.

Let us gauge the PR performance before casting our votes wisely.

Who Are the Traitors or Anti-nationals

Recently FELDA performance and its financial reserves were questioned by the opposition members in the Parliament. The BN through UMNO did not admit that the Oil Palm Giant was not doing well. Its reserves have taken a serious dive. The PM took a swipe at the Opposition MPs and criticised them for questioning the financial position and performance of FELDA. Its reserve had substantially plummetted. But our PM was not prepared to admit the state of affairs of FELDA and maintained that it was doing well and that it was financially sound. He branded the critiques as traitors or anti-nationals.

I am not too sure whether the PM knew what he was talking about. I just wonder who were the traitors and or anti-nationals of the country. Those who exposed the position of FELDA or those who plundered and squandered the reserves of FELDA?

According to reports, FELDA reserved had dwindled down by as much as RM3 billion and coupled with the losses reported in Sime Darby, the total sum squandered came to RM5 billion. Should not those who are responsible directly and indirectly be held liable for 'the disappearance of such huge sum of money'. Should not the public have the right to know where the money had gone?

For such a huge sum of money to disappear in thin air, there must be personalities behind the alleged 'looting' which was akin and tantamount to a breach of fiduciary duty and trust.

Is what Malay supremacy all about? To shut the mouths of the non-Malays in the name and under the notional pretext of Malay special rights and privileges so that those leaders at the helm may be given a free hand to squander and plunder the national resources? There is no such right in the constitution that provides any political party or persons to abuse such privilege, trust and power to steal from the country's resources!

If this is not the underlying reason, then what is?

Let the pundits realise that to claim supreme over all the other races carries with it a great responsibility. Political leaders who were elected by the people of Malaysia owe them a great duty of trust. If they spurn this trust then they must be held liable and accountable for such serious breach. If need be, they must face the music and be prosecuted. All their unexplained wealth shall be confiscated and be channelled back to the public treasury.

If the MACC, Police, AG Chamaber and the Judiciary were to act according to their respective objectives and functions, they would be able to curb extremism and help the country to promote peace and harmony among the citizens of the country.

The traitors are also those who try to change history of the past so that the present and future generations may not know what had taken place in the past. Besides, they try to distort the cause of history and reinvent it to their favorable advantage. This will not help in nation building let alone foster the sense of belonging and national integration. Lies do not pay.

Please do not point the finger at the non-Malays. They are not the real traitors. The traitors are the UMNOputras who foment and continue to foment inter-racial and interreligious dissension and disharmony in the country so that they could achieve their evil and sinister policy and design of divide and rule.

In this way, they could exert their insiduous racial supremacy over the other tribes and races in the country. They must remember that this country does not belong to the Malays alone. Other races have a stake in the country as well.   Most of the the so-called Malays, mind you, are all pendatang attempting to milk the resources of the country. They are no different in background from the non-Malays who migrated here from the north and elsewhere.

To contain and check the evil design of UMNO/BN. let all non-Malays reject this evil UMNO design. Let us rally together and vote wisely and throw the extremists out of the State Assemblies as well as the Parliament. We all have a duty to save the nation from decadence and disintegration brought about by the selfish, avaricious, corrupt and ruthless UMNO putras who merely care about their own pockets and not those of the other races.

My Views on Malay Supremacy

This subject has been in the air for some years. Of late, there tends to be a proliferation of discussion and debate not only in the BN controlled media but also the blogsites of many bigotted politicians.

In my view those Malay who talk about supremacy of the Malays do not seem to know what they are talking about. They appear to have an inherent inferiority complex, lack of self confidence and self-reliance.

Those who are well educated and possess the necessary survival skills do not need to nor have the neecd to harp on Malay supremacy.

Many Malays that I know have great self-respect for themselves and they do and integrate well with the community in which they live. They talk rationally and sensibly and they have the necessary communication skills. Most of them have written and spoken proficiency of the Malay and Englsih languages. Some were able to master and carry themselves well in Mandarin.

By being successsful in society, that itself earns and assure them the supremacy of respect from the people they work and interact with. There is no need to demand for racial or ethnic supremacy. Racial supremacy should never be taken for granted. It is not something that is there. It has to be worked for. No civilisation was ever formed or founded on the premise of granted supremacy.

I read often the racist remarks of one Ibrahim Ali, obviously a notorious member of UMNO. But this bloke has been getting away from murder and and often escape detention under the ISA for making racialistically provocative statements that hurt the feeling of the non-Malays. This extremist ought to be stopped or else he would destroy what Najib stood for. And, he is indeed a misfit and an embarrassment to the BN Government. I am sad to say that at this juncture of social economic development in Malaysia, we have moronic leaders like Ibrahim Ali who tried to score points by arousing the rakyat. I just pray that the rakyat will show him the exit at the coming 13th General Election.

What more do the Malays want? They are in control of practicially all the essential ministries, agencies, civil service, armed forces, the police, the customs, the judiaciary, immigration, palm oil industry, banking, utility companies, every licensing authority, scholarship, entrance to public universities, GLCs and quasi-government bodies and many of the big corporate giants like Sime Darby, Guthrie, PNB, Dunlop, Golden Hope, Petronas, mining sector etc. What else is there left for the non-Malays.

For all the above resources that the Malays have amassed through UMNO, some of the leaders still insist they want more and even to the extent of asking the non-Malays to get lost from the country. What sort of leaders are these?

Majority of the non-Malays possess one thing in common; that is, their moral courage to survive, industry, ingenuity and positive attitude to succeed against all odds. This is what they make them supreme even though they are so blatantly being discriminated against in terms of business opportunities and every known human endeavours.

For sure they will never go around provoking their neighbours into hating one another. If the non-Malays who are so economically disadvantaged can pride themselves of their achievements and successes with heads high up, that itself is their satisfaction and fulfillment. Definitely, they do not surive on handouts!

Supremacy, they certainly do not need; but they will continue their utmost to contribute positively to the economic development and progress of the nation. The national success is their pride of achievement.

Given the opportunities and help from the Government, they will even attain greater heights. Try them if you so will.

So extremists, please do not harp on Malay supremacy. It is a slogan that shows the avaricious and simpletonical tendency and character of the Malay race, if there is one.

Your supremacy will manifest if only you attain your success through your own efforts and not through bail-outs, corruption, abuse of power by resorting to political persecution of the opposition members.

Malay First, Malaysian Second

Tan Sri Muyiddin ought to be taken out of the cabinet and be stripped of his position as the Deputy Prime Minister for not complying with the express 1 Malaysia policy enunciated by our PM Datuk Seri Najib.

No sooner had the 1 Malaysia concept announced by Najib than Muyiddin surprised the nation by uttering that he considered himself a Malay first and Malaysian second. He must be an embarrassment to Najib.

The most astounding part was that Najib accepted and agreed to the explanation of Muyiddin! I believe deep inside his heart Najib might want to strangle Muyiddin alive if he ever had a chance for throwing a spanner into his long term political strategy of winning the lost Malay and Non-Malay support and votes.

By uttering such a racist remark, Muyiddin merely showed not only his shallowness in his foresight but also his political immaturity and imbecility. Such racist remark at this juncture might cause the UMNO and BN to suffer the consequences in the coming 13th General Election.

For Malaysia to move forward, politicians have to change their mind set and paradigm. They have to revisit their past and existing socio-economic policies and examine their relevance in present days' context. If they fail to do that, then I foresee that they will be doomed and vaporised in the next election.

The Government of the day must ensure that there is justice in her administration and ensure that the citizens be given fair treatment in all respects.

It must be realised that the country belongs to each and every citizen of the country. The resources must be shared fairly and equitalbly among the several races and tribes in the country. Discrimination must be avoided if the government wishes to see a favorable wind of change blowing in her direction.

Majority of the people feel that they are capable to compete on their own feet. They do not need economic clutches anymore. By continuing to spoonfeed the Malay masses, the Government is not going to help them toward competing in a global market.
Ultimately, more and more people of Malaysia will suffer at the avaricious hands of the few politicians at the top.

Petronas can no longer hide its profits under the skirt of the PM. The citizens have a right to know where its profits go. All the revenues and profits of GLCs must be accounted for to the public. The profits must be plowed back for the benefit and welfare of the masses.

Another sore point is the lack of transparency of the UMNO/BN leaders. A lot of money has been channeled out into the pockets of some top leaders through over-pricing of projects, unaccounted give-away and overseas investments!

Don't anyone ever think that the masses are still sleeping. Many are just controlling themselves until the appropriate time when they will initiate actions and their plans that will surprise many of the UMNOputras. And the day is nigh when UMNO and BN coalition will disappear from the political scene.

The recent suspension of the four MPs merely indicates that the BN government is very intolerant of the opposition's criticisms. The sensible questions to be addressed should be:

1) Did the UMNO/BN Government actually engage an international Israeli PR company
to come out with the 1 Malaysia Policy?

2) Was the 1 Malaysia concept patterned alongside the 1 Israel concept?

3) If so, why did the Malaysian Government engage that Israeli firm to undertake
the task of formulating the 1 Malaysia concept?

4) Even if it was so, was it wrong to admit that the Government did engage the
Israeli firm to undertake the project?

An admission would have solved all the problem and put the opposition criticisms to rest. So there is no necessary to waste the precious Parliament's time and subject the four MPs to disciplinary actions and supension for six months.

Water Cannons and Tear Gas Grenades

Last Sunday 5 December 2010 saw the quiet demonstration staged by concerned Selangorians near the National Mosque and the old Railway Station against the heartless and exorbitant water tariff increases proposed by Syabas, a private company which took over the Selangor State's Water Authority a couple of years back.

Many people protested against the privatisation of the Selangor Water Authority then but it just went into deaf ears of the UMNO/BN putras who were more interested in lining their own pockets rather than trying to save for the low income rakyat.

In my view, the tariff rates are already high considering the muddy and filty water that comes out of our taps at home or office. In my office, I pay a flat rate of RM39.00 per month even though I use less than 3 units of water a month. The rate is indeed monstrously high and beyond any rationale.

Syabas has not perfomred a syabas duty to the people of Selangor. In the first instance, such essential utility should never be privatised. But because of greed, our Tun MM went ahead against all odds to get the water department privatised - this is indeed a great travesty of justice to the people of Selangor. Many of their children will not forget his great name even when he is gone for this sinister decision of his. He will not die in peace nor with a peace of mind.

The people of Selangor have every right to access the YDP for his assistance and attention to the great injustice against his subjects. But instead the peaceful demonstrators were greeted with water cannon and tear gas bombs being hurled at them. The commotion was caused and of course the blame was attributed to the opposition parties.

This high-handed action of the Federal Reserve Unit and Police Force ought to be condemned. If the people having a deeply-seated grievance cannot ventilate it in the public, what can they do? Keep mum, envelope it within his heart and pray that the problem will hope against hope go away the next day?

These are really guys with cow dung in their heads. They do not have brains and therefore cannot think between right and wrong. They have been reduced to humanoids.

The Selangor Government is not happy with the way Syabas is milking the people of Selangor. It wants to take back the water administration from the private company created by the UMNO/BN putras to enrich themselves.

If I may say so, all the GLCs and the privatised companies are now legally transformed into vehicles to siphon out their revenue for their own use. Through this means, they have milked billions of ringgits from the people of Malaysia.

Hence, the people of Malaysia must wake up and do their duty to vote wisely at the coming 13th general election. Every citizen who has a concern and love for the ccuntry must do his or her part in voting the UMNO/BN coalition out of the Parliament and State Assemblies.

We must effect a wind of change that is so tsunamic that it will efface the UMNO and MN from the surface of our motherland.

Sign of Weakness

I am surprised as well as flabbergasted at the way our PM warned the attendees of the BN Convention last weekend and stirring up the UMNO ruffians to protect at all cost Putrajaya from falling into the hands of the Pakatan Rakyat in the coming general election.

Our Najib must realise that BN brand of politic is no longer working well in the country because it had injured and will continue to injure the non-Malays who put in so much efforts in contributing toward builing up the country to find that they are not getting the benefits from their hard labour. Instead they are being derogated as pendatang, disloyal elements and ingratiates.

The non-Malays have been very patient during the past three decades by not fighting for their rights and privileges as citizens of the country. They sacrificed for their Malay brethren and sisters who enjoyed preferential treatment from the Government departments and agencies who deliberately distorted the constitution and policy of the Government in their enforcement which discriminated against the non-Malays children in terms of scholarship, being offered preferred courses in local universities, education loans and business opportunities.

As I said before I cannot bring myself to trust those leaders with three pointed eyes. This featural characteristic speaks volumes of the type of person our PM is - cannot be trusted and relied upon.

Why should our PM worried about the outcome of the coming general election. The election commission has been gerrymandering for the UMNO/BN parties for all these years by coming out with ridiculous policies in connection with the election machinery. First to go must in my opionion is the postal votes, which much be abolished. All those in the police, armed forces or para-military organisations must serve notice to the Election Commission of the change of addresses. They shall after the notification be obliged to vote at the consituacy nearist to their camp or place of abode.

I cannot fathom why our PM is feeling so diffident that Putrajaya would lose out to the Opposition! He has no confidence at all as to the prospect of UMNO and BN. The power of the people will get rid of them through the ballot and not the barrel.

BY uttering rubbish and expecting the rakyat to accept it is too presumptious and make him look like an ass. Why should he worry whether PKR or DAP or PAS takes control of Putrajaya. Is not Putrajaya being built from taxes of the people and resources of the country.

The PM must realise that Putrajaya belongs to the people and not the Malay along. The PM utterance merely display and reveal his insincerity, childishness and intellectual bankrupcy. He just does not seem to know the sense of time.

We need to tell the UMNO/BN scumbags that we mean business. We need a change of Government so that to prevent and arrest the process of rot taking place before our eyes.

Unless we do this, we will end up as the losers. Tell UMNO/BN, "enough is enough."

Cow Dung In The Brain

For a minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Dato' Nazri to describe those leaders advocating for "Ketuanan Melayu" or "Malay Supremacy" as having cow dung in their head was certainly unprecedented. The outburst was indeed hard hitting, provocative and inflammatory. He further criticised these extremists for not knowing what they were uttering about.

The term Malay Supremacy refers to the head of states - the sultans in particular. By fighting for Malay Supremacy that they are actually and indirecty fighting to perpetuate the status quo of the Malay Rulers of certain states in the country.

The New Economy Policy which was aimed at elevating the status of the Malays and Bumiputras back fired. The policy was supposed to eradicate the general poverty among the poor and to ensure equitable distribution of wealth among the people of Malaysia, but somehow unfortunately though after three decades, the Malays still remain backward. It benefited only the handful of UMNO sycophantic cronies.

After the last general election, UMNO and BN undertook to reassess the impact of the NEP, identify the weaknesses and formulate a new policy to please the masses. They came out with the New Economic Model (NEM) which is aimed at transforming the country into a high income economy such that the average income of the general factory worker may be raised from RM700.00 as high as RM3000.00 per month or RM36,000.00 per annum.

To raise the average income of the worker from RM700.00 to RM3000.00 per month is not going to be an easy task. How is the Government going to increase the income level if she is not making an effort to raise the standard of college and university education? Is the Government going to continue her free distribution of the national resources to these UMNOputras?

The manufacturing processes have to be replaced by modern and better machineries that are capable of increasing productive capacities. With high technological advancement, we may attain this goal.

Perhaps we may need to pull bigoted guys like Ibrahim Ali behind bars under the ISA, otherwise we will never be able to achieve the NEM objectives.

Success in human development and national advancement depends on the hardwork of every citizen where wealth, skills and knowledge acquisition is concerned. Spoonfeeding has proven to be a failure during the past three decades. To move forward, the country must face reality of the day. UMNO cannot hijack the country resources for the Malays only through the gradual islamisation process.

We need a Government of integrity that is founded on competence, accountability and transparency in managing the country incorruptibily, fairly and efficiently.

The Discrimatory Education System

Malaysian students, especially those from the non-bumiputric stock, have been languishing for the past 25 years during the premiership of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Father of Modern Malaysia Racist Education Policy.

Tun after retirement came out with a confession that he was responsible for the Policy which deprived the non-bumiputra of government scholarships, of preferred disciplines in the public universities and study loans.

Tun and his band of cronies became very intolerant when the opposition or public raised issues that question the Malay supremacy. Many of these leaders were put under the ISA. The Bumiputras were by virtue of this Malay status given all the privileges - money, overseas tertiary education opportunities in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the United States. But now Dato Nazri was saying that those leaders who harped on Malay supremacy do really know what they are talking about. He reiterated that they have cow dung in their brains! This language was indeed very strong.

In order to help the bumiputras to enter the universities, entry requirements were reduced to the barest minima of two Principal 'E' passes in the STPM to qualify for medical, engineering, accountancy, dentistry and legal studies. Passing marks were shamefully lowered. As a result, academic standards plummetted to an all time low.

Many non-Malay students who scored well in the SPM or STPM were not given the opportunities to pursue courses of their desire. Hence, many of them have to study in the private colleges and universities where the fees are exhorbitant when compared to the fees of public universities.

The typical product of a local graduate is one who is unable to communicate in the English Language - cannot speak and write. Hence, they are unable to find proper employment in the private sector. The civil service is the savior that takes all these goons in. It is facing a superfluous situation.

In the civil, military, police and para-military services, practically a 100% intake on bumiputras took place from the 70s to the 90s. Non-Malay applicants were rejected without reasonable excuse. The bumiputrisation policy is eclipsed with the strong wave of racialism in these arms of service. Junior officers received accelerated promotion over their seniors. Hence, saw the exodus of non-malay civil servants during the 80s and 90s and many were so frustrated that they opted for early retirement while a great portion migrated to other countries.

Then, non-malay students upon their graduation do not wish to return to their motherland. This gives rise to the perennial brain drain of our human assets to advanced countries where they were happier working there than coming back home to be treated like pawns.

So, Tun MM is now feeling remorseful for what he did. I really cannot trust such a person who say A meaning B having in mind C but actually D. During his entire reign, he had certainly hoodwinked all the Malay brethren and sisters. They had been really duped left right and centre by Tun MM.

Bringing Glory to the Nation

The non-Malays who participated and succeeded in obtaining gold medals for the country at the Asian Games 2010 in Guangzhou China ought to be given the highest accolade and recognition for bringing glory and fame to their motherland.

There is no doubt that these athletes are dedicated and committed to do their best for the country as they so declared before the nation before they left for Guangzhou for the Asian Games.

At the time of writing, Malaysia bagged in 8 gold,14 silver and 33 bronze medals - 55medals in all - which is indeed a hefty and lofty achievement for a a small population country like Malaysia. It ranked No. 8 in the medals tally among the 45 participating countries in the 2010 Asia Games.

The success of these medallists appears so simple. But, behind their success, lies the long hours of painful, gruelling and persistent detraining, training and retraining until they reach near perfection or a degree high enough to earn their crowning glory not for themselves but for the people of Malaysia as well as the nation.

Their selfless sacrifices for the nation cannot be doubted nor can they be adequately compensated by mere words or monies alone. They must be duly recognised as true heros of the country. This small number of citizens of the country belongs to a special group of nationals who are not only patriotic and loyal but also are exemplary and effective ambassadors of Malaysia.

In fact, they are special citizens of the world where their special qualities are greatly needed in most if not all countries of the world. They are always welcomed to live in any part of the world.

I regard these athletes as special class of people in that they are generally humble in their victories and gracious in their defeats. Besides, they have a recently high degree of emotional stability towards good and bad publicities from the media.

Many a time, when they emerged victorious in a game or a match, they were praised highly but when they are defeated they faced the ire of the merciless press who could not care a damn whether they were human beings or not. They were treated like humanoids when they failed to win the competition.

This group of athletes is a microcosm of what a truly united Malaysia is or should be. A great lesson can be learnt from them. They are friendly, not racialistic and moderate in their dispositions. When gathered together, they are truly united for the attainment of a common goal - that is, to succeed for the nation. The verve they possess and the tenancity that they manifest in their determination to succeed speak volumes of the key to success in human development and achievements.

So let us not question the integrity of these athletes comprising loyal citizens of all races. This is truly Malaysia. What can it be otherwise?

Lawless Shooting

It was indeed sad that our policeman shot an innocent and helpless single mother in Shah Alam five times besides using his booted feet to kick, stamp and broke her ribs.

What sort of policeman are we having in the country? From the press conference, I can only come to the conclusion that the SOG must be sick in his head. He must be charged for attempted murder and cashiered from the police force.

The innocent must be protected and feel safe to move around and about in the country. Otherwise, the country will agravate and degenrate into an anarchy where lawlessness rules the day.

The victim was unarmed. She was not trying to harm nor threaten the police constable on duty. If he suspected that she was up to no good, he could have asked her to step out of the car and had her apprehended and taken to the nearest police station for interrogation but certainly not shooting an innocent woman at point blank. This is tantamount to bullyism.

By denying and protecting the PC, our Home Minister had acted unprofessionally. He could have uttered omething more palatable to assure the angry public that he would investigate the report and if there was justification, he would see that justice be meted out.

By making a stupid statement, he certainly had "jatohed" standard.

It is good that the victim is contemplating to sue the police in seeking justice not only for herself but also for the country.

Let all servants of public authorities be aware that Malaysia is a civilised country and we have a responsibility to govern the country with justice, compassion and benevolence.

Irresponsible Media

Our media is under the control of the BN Government through the Ministry of Home Affairs which is empowereduner statute to rescind publishing permit or refuse to renew such permit on expiry if that publishing company or organisation has breached or breaches any of the conditions under which the permmit is granted or fails to heed the warning of the Ministry or violate any of the prevailing rules, regulatons or laws governing media pubication.

The media is controlled by the BN Government through its component parties. The big boys - NST, The Star, Utusan Melayu, Berita Harian, Tamil Nesan, Nanyang Shang Pao and Sing Chew etc are operating under the thumbs of the Government, which determines what news and reports the public should read and know.

The newspapers have the reputation of being biased and not too truthful in their publications. Unlike other newspapers in the West, there are more reports and news than advertisments and rubbish filling the pages. No wonder, many people are just fighting shy of buying these newspapers - which have been playing the role of the Government's mouth piece.

Everyday, one never fails to read about crimes - robberies, rapes, divorces, criticising the opposition parties etc. News that are untoward towards the UMNO/BN Government are often blanked out. Investigative journalism is seldom praticed; if at all done, it is always to the disdvantage and tarnishing the opposition parties.
A point in time was the damaging reports that filled the space of the local media before the Altantuya's case was being investigated by the police!

The public would want to know how the UMNO/BN cronies are performing their work the public entrusted them, the offences they have committed, the money they had siphoned out into their pockets, the disappearance of public funds like the PTPTN Scholarship Fund and the number of students to which the money had been loaned out and how much they are owing, the actions they have taken to recover these loans and the deficit that it is likely to face in the near future etc.

No wonder the Penang State Government and the Kedah State Government recently decided to ban reporters of UMNO/BN conrolled papers from their public functions. Why? The reason is quite obvious. Irresponsible reporting is the main reason.

Do I need to speak more?

Lack of Patriotism

Recently the Minister of Defence, Dato' Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi commented that it was perhaps the lack of patriotism that saw the Chinese and Indian youths not interested in joining the armed forces or the police force.

How would Zahid as a small kampung boy from Bagan Datoh know how hard the Chinese and the Indians had fought the British after the 2nd World War, the commies during the emergency and for wresting independence from the colonial master in 1957?

Without Merdeka, Zahid might not now be sitting high up on the ivory tower to utter such insulting and disparaging remarks against the prevailing indifference of the Chinese and Indians to join the military and police force. I would describe him as an ostrich burying its head in the sand and ignoring the realities of the day. The UMNO/BN Gevernment have killed whatever interest and eagerness in them serving the armed forces through the discrimatory NEP.

A man of letters would not utter sweeping statements like what he did. I would have expected that he be better behaved, more couth, and polished in his public utterances.

As a minister with the UMNO/BN Government, he should realise the circumstances that contributed to the present sorry state of affairs. Intake of non-Malays was reduced to the minimum for many years in the 70s and 80s. Their promotion was held back to allow their malay colleagues to move ahead of them. Just imagine, juniors climbing over the heads of their seniors! This caused emoraliation and frustration among the non-Malays; no wondr, many to leave the forces prematurely and serve our neighbouring countries.

I remember in the 50s, Chinese and Indian youths had no qualms at all about volunteering to join the armed forces. There was fairness in assessemtn, treatment and promotion was based on merits rather than on their ethnic origin, religious background and skin colour.

If I may say so, this indifference was caused by the discriminatory, divisionistic and racialistic policy of the UMNO/BN Government. The NEP that was introduced after May 13, 1969, though its objectivs were noble on paper, was implemented to the detriment of the nation. As a result, the country is now divided along racial, religious, language, education, occupation and business lines. And it will take generations before these barriers can be taken down like the Berlin Wall.

Look at the brain drain each year. Non-malay students are not offered courses of their choice in the local universities, so they have to pursue their tertiary education either through local or overseas private colleges or universities at great expense of their parents. Many were offered scholarships by neighbouring countries and when they graduate, they serve the countries that gave them the helping hands. Should not this be the basic social responsibility of the Malaysian Government? The divide and rule policy of the UMNO/BN Government have definitely dampened whatever patriotic feelings that these growing youths might have in their hearts.

From young these potential leaders are faced or made to face and grapple with the various divides - in schools. colleges, universities, occupations and business. How would anyone expect patriotism to be inculcated in the minds of these growing youths? UMNO/BN have destroyed the nation through their bigotted and divisionistic social economic policies during the past four decades.

They have succeeded in causing suspicion, mistrust and division among the races of the country, implementing the 'apatheid policy' in respect of education, award of scholarships and places in the local public universities, employment in the civil service, military and police forces. The policy of governing the country with justice and benevolence as taught in the Islamic religion is all swept under the carpet for certain UMNOputric selfish interest.

The Government should set a good example of the type of conduct and values they would like to inculcate in and mould the country's citizens. If it continues to allow and condone corruption to prevail within and across its machineries, then the people would just follow suit.

Country building cannot be left to the tyros. The UMNO/BN putras are too complacent and too ensconced in their comfortable chairs. They only know how to enrich their pockets but not the masses. Hence, a change is needed for them to wake up. Let the opposition party show them how one can be prudent in spending, how to economise and save for the rainy day, how to preserve and prudently and productively develop the country's human nd natural resources in line with the national needs, how to elevate the standards of college and university education;, how to improve the income of the average worker, and bring in high-tech industries into the country etc.

If UMNO/BN is to survive the next GE, it must be sincere in its policy implementation. The people shall be the sole judges and she cannot continue to fool the masses any longer. The corrupt must be booked and severe action to be taken against them including on conviction forfeiting and confiscating all their ill-begotten and unexplained wealth and have them distributed to the country's needy.

Unless justice is done, racial harmony will remain at stake. There shall never be peace and trust among the races in the country. For progress, all races must be given the opportunity to move forward freely, equally and in tandem and be granted the dignity and recogntion of their human rights. Politicising and polarising religion and race must stop altogether. Days for such matters are over.

With all the above matters in place, the lost patriotism will one day be restored. We call for justice, equality and opportunity to be shared by all in the country. Let us get started now before it is too late.

Uphold the Image of Justice

The Judiciary has already earned a bad name where it comes to administration of justice.

Before a person can be charged and prosecuted in a court of law for a seizable offence or crime, the Attorney General must give consent; otherwise, the case is just as bad as being frozen.

Recently, the case of the Altantuya's murder was again resurrected in the internet which hinted that the AG was attempting to close and bury it for good. The Altantuya's spectre is certainly haunting those who are involved in the plot to heinously and mercillessly assassinate her using the C4 explosives. The case had been blown sky high and had attracted worldwide attention. Any untoward action by the AG at this juncture would likely court global ire, contempt and backward blessing from the bereft family of Altantuya as well as the Mongolian people.

The other case that did not go well in recent times was the attempt to introduce "a suicide note" to the court months after it was allegedly found in Teoh Beng Hock's bag. How could this have happened? The with-holding of the said note was certainly against the normal practice. By so doing, the image of MACC took a great dive. In consequence, the public confidence in MACC had plummeted to an all time low. Don't let the fall go any lower than the floor on which TBH's body was found.

Malaysia is well-known for its 'kebolehan'. Why allow the situation to deteriorate any further?

It is lamentable to see many of the high tech investments moving into PRC, Thailand,India, South Korea and Taiwan. The 'kebolehan' factor has certainly back-fired. If it continues to persist, our dream to become an indusrialised economy by 2020 or to become a high-income economy shall remain a dream.

This is perhaps a wake-up call. If the UMNO/BN Government is not going to take serious actions to transform the society at all levels to be one committed to the philosophy of competence, accountability and integreity for the future prosperity of the country, no one will ever do it for her.

Ultimately, we have to fall back on the human resources of Malaysia; that is, the people of Malaysia.

Unity Key to 1 Malaysia

It is sad and most unfortunate that despite the PM’s express policy to create a united Malaysia, we have in our midst scumbag like Johari Ghani, Head of UMNO Titiwangsa Division uttering irresponsible statements that Chinese and Indian are not needed for BN to win an election.

Such statements do not really befit the CEO of C.I Holdings Bhd (Pemanis) which distributes bottled beverages like Pepsi, Twister, Revive, Kickapoo, Chill, 7-up, boss coffee and others.

By trying to play to the gallery, Johari merely shows his inner bankrupt make-up which consists of bigotry, chauvinism and racialism.

Malaysia do not need guys like Johari. All the more the electorate should reject candidate like him who will not do any good to the country except racial tension, unrest and disunity among the people.

For the harmonious and peaceful development of a nation, one has to practice not only tolerance but also acceptance of one’s fellowmen. Tolerance is no solution in the long run as we have experience since 1969. One has to accept and respect one another regardless of race, creed and political affiliation. Unless this basis principle is accepted, then no amount of rhetoric, slogan and advocacy will help.

To attain corporate success, it requires a lot of hard work. Success does not come by through utilizing the public funds to buy up successful companies. It requires the injection of one’s capital. Otherwise, there will be a lack of motivation and commitment to succeed. The situation is exacerbated if such companies are going to be bailed out by the BN Government each time they run aground. Cases in point are Sime Darby, Felda, MAS, BBMB(CIMB now) etc.

The citizens must be united if the nation is going to succeed. Unless justice is practiced, the hope of realizing 1 Malaysia is likely to be doomed to failure.

Guys like Johari should be taken into custody under the ISA. They should not be allowed to hang round in public causing disruption, dissension and disintegration among the people of Malaysia.

Need for Interdependence for Growth

It is indeed sad that despite the PM's express policy to build a united Malaysia we still have in our midst scums like Johari, Head of UMNO Titiwangsa Division.

The days of bigotry, racism and isolationism are over. We must as responsible citizens be concerned with not only in enriching ourselves but also for the welfare and development of others. Together, we can build a better and stronger nation where the peoples are loyal, dedicated and committed to the unity, harmony and peace among one another.

Malaya was born out of the tacit co-operation of the three major races - the Malays, Chinese and Indians. The British would not grant or was probably reluctant to grant independence to Malaya had the three ethnic groups not agreed with one another in governing the country together.

At that time, there was no question at all crossing the minds of all the leaders that one race attempting to exclude or discriminate against another from enjoying the benefits and resources of the country.

No one was to be deprived of his freedom, equality before the law and right to being treated equally with dignity as a citizen of the country.

But look at today, the original objective of Merdeka has been obliterated and sidelined. Certain avaricious "pendatang" from neighbouring and middle-east countries have assumed the false prominence and notion under the guise of nationalism of fighting for their security and places under the Malaysian sun by exploiting the weakness of the orang asli and indigenous people of the country for their selfish motives.

This very group branded and styled themselves as Malays after May 13, 1969, and ingeniously engineered the constitutional definition of Malay and the NEP so as to enrich themselves to the exclusion of others, created a lassez-faire class among themselves in the course who have to depend on the perpetual subsidies of the Government of the day, need not work hard and compete with the others and the world and robbing and squandering in the mean time the national resources for their own beneifts.

The country has awakened. The people are crying foul that they had been deprived of what that are due to them. They have remained tolerant for the past three or four decades so as to allow the UMNOputras to implement the objectives of the NEP. But instead, the nobility of the NEP had been distorted by certain bigoted political leaders along the way and today we see clearly the social economic needs of the masses have not been met. The development is very lop-sided.

Greed, corruption and ruthlessness have reared their ugly heads. The Malays are now saying that they have the inherent rights to special treatment and privileges. But they do not realise or feign to realise that these rights and privileges are only possible in an expanding economy.

The Malays have succeeded during the past five decades in attaining their supramacy in politics, government, economy and the business sectors and yet they are still trying to squeeze the remaining drops of blood from the marrows of the other races.
The warped social economic strategies of UMNO/BN are all wrong. Whatever strategies they put up now or attempting to put up now do not have the confidence and consensus of the people. The unholy coalition of BN has carved out a habit of not walking the talk. Look at the 1 Malaysia gimmick - there is so much of incongruencies within BN that very few people cares seriously about it.

The country is made strong through the blood and sweat of the early fathers of Malaya but within a matter of three generations, we are experiencing moral decadence which will if left unchecked destroy the nation of which we pride to be our own motherland.

Look at the rot within the UMNO/BN - corruption, avarice and abuse of power - have become the norms of the day and a way of life among the leaders, the civil servants, the police and the military. Look at the GLCs operating as conduits for siphoning funds into the pockets of the ruling parties or few. These pseudo-business organisations together form an insiduous consortium that helps the ruling the government to legimitise the flow of funds from the treasury to the pockets of the leaders under the guise of business. When they lose money, the public are made to pay and bail them out.

EPF is becoming the cash cow for the UMNO/BN putras. A lot of monies have been "borrowed" but we have yet to see how the Government or its agencies to make good the hard earned savings of the workers of Malaysia. So far EPF has been coerced to invest in overseas projects but not many are really generating profits and or dividends for the contributors. The funds have been managed by imbecile appointees and we trust the Auditor General would throw lights on its performance.

Interdependence must be fostered and encouraged to be fostered for future survival of the country. There must be sharing of power and equitable distribution of wealth. Scholarship and education should be opened or prised open for all. Remember all the public institutions of higher learning were builst and funded by public funds and therefore it is just not right to prevent qualified non-Malays to have access in pursuit and attaining their desired disciplines and specialisations.

By clinging to the NEP, UMNO/BN are just destroying the country in the long run. Let us not be kidded by what they say, think and do. Unless they harmonise what they think, say and do, nothing will come out successfully from this unholy alliance.

So unless they change, they must be voted out. Let us not mince our word and deed.

Need for Interreligious Dialogue

Why is the Government so afraid of involving the local muslims in interreligious dialogue with the adherents of other religions?

For the past few decades, the muslims have been invited by the MCCBCHST to share their faith and its teachings with representative members of the Consultative Council but until today, this invitation still remains standing.

By engaging in interreligious dialogue. one does not derogate the position of one's religion. In the eyes of the Almighty God, all men including women are His creatures and children who belong to one human race. They are equal before His eyes. Throughout history, God through His prophets has handed and continues to hand down His revelations to His people in different countries at different times with a view to guiding them against worshipping idols and declaring to them that He is their God and they are His people. Yet the people unfortunately refuse to heed His words and continue to be led astray along the path to perdition. God wants us to live as one people under His command.

Interreligious dialogue helps promote racial and national integration among the people of different religions/faiths. Besides, along the way, it fosters peace, understanding and harmony - which factors are so crucial to national development, harmony and cohesiveness.

While religions may have their own differences, there are similarities as well where it comes to moral values. It is often pointed out or suggested that we avoid talking about differences but merely focusing on similarities. I personally do not see the rationale of this proposition.

In interreligious dialogue, we do not only talk about similarities but also differences. It is by understanding differences that people get closer to one another, trust one another better and enhance better friendship.

Once the camaraderie is established, the people can enter the next phase of operation and that is getting engaged in inter-religious programmes and activities for humanity - such as, charities like joint fund raising, helping the handicapped, the poor or needy, the aged, victims of acts of God etc. Is this not the noble long term objectives of 1 Malaysia?

If our PM is really serious about realising his vision of transforming the nation into 1 Malaysia, then he has to take firmer and bolder steps to overcome all the petty unfounded remarks and innuendos about the effects of having interreligious dialogue among all the followers of the major religions in the country. The BN Government has been postponing this decision for many years. First it rejected the proposed Interreligious Commission, then the Interreligious Committee and the name is now modified to Committee for Understanding and Harmony Among Religious Adherents. The purpose has been so diluted that I am not confident what the latter Committee could achieve except to reduce it to one of informal exchange of views.

Let us not impose any pre-conditions for talks and exchanges of views on religions. By having such unnecessary restraints and constraints, talks and exchanges may not be open, serious and effective. The Committee will just operate like a group of uncommitted personalities appointed by the unwilling to do the unnecessary. Let the dialogue be spontaneous and free of political influence.

Let the BN leadership be positive in its thinking for positive thinking begets positive expectations which give rise to positive results. Remove from our mind any suspicions and untowards consequences that may arise. Let us not count the chickens before they are hatched. If those involved are God-fearing people, then we can only expect the best and goodness to come out of the dialogue.

Save Resources for the Nation

For the past five decades, the UMNO/BN Government have not been prudent in the utilisation of the country's resources. Much of these resources have been squandered on mega projects that do not benefit the masses. Instead they went into pockets of the few UMNO cronies through privatised companies or government linked companies.

There is no reason why our country should trail behind Singapore, Taiwan or South Korea in terms of social economic development if and if only the financial resources were spent on useful and productivity improvement projects.

One serious problem that plagues the country is the discriminatory wealth-sharing policy of Malaysia called NEP - New Economic Policy. This policy was introduced after the racial riot in 1969. This policy was nobly aimed at eradicating poverty of the people regardless of race and creed but somehow it was implemented with much prejudice against the non-Malays. Scholarships were mostly granted to the Malays even though they did not secure good results in the SPM or at matriculation level. Besides, jobs were mostly offered to the Malays in the civil service, military and para-military and the police forces.

Many of the non-Malay childrens have to go overseas to pursue their tertiary education on their fathers' scholarships as they could not get into the local universites to pursue courses of their choices. This has caused a serious brain and financial drain from the country during the past three decades. Many of the Malay scholars are also reluctant to return to Malaysia upon completion of their studies abroad of various reasons.

The Government relies heavily on three financial sources namely, Employees Provident Fund, Petronas and Revenue Department.

Many if not most of the GLCs are not performing and they rely on the Government perenially for fresh fund injection almost every year. If at all they make money, it is siphoned out. Known cases in point are Sime Darby, FELDA, Golden Hope, MAS etc.

At the time of writing, it is learned that the privatized water concessionaire is running into serious cash flow problem and may require a financial bail-out from the Federal Government.

Recently it was reported that The Higher Education Scholarship Fund, PTPTN, may face or is likely face with a mind-boggling deficit amounting ot RM46bn by the end of the 11th Malaysia Plan ending 2016. Besides RM23 million were loaned out to "ghostly" students. The Government of the day will have to account for this loss and the deficit. It has been lumbered perienially with non-performing students' debts.

I can only sum up PTPTN's case with just a four-word phrase - "Highly Incompetent and Inefficient" For a trial and change, let the whole management be partially replaced by qualified non-malays. I am sure, this sorry state of affairs will be reduced significantly in the years ahead.

One can easily surmise that the Ketuanan Melayu policy has failed miserably in the area of social-economic development and if allowed to persist, it will drag down the progress of the other ethnic groups.

Of late, our PM announced in his budget speech that he intended to introduce the ETP - Economic Transformation Plan In connection therewith in an efort to elevate the income of the masses, five mega projects were propsed - a 100-storeyed high rise buidling and four super-duper highways! As I pointed out, these projects will benefit the foreign workers more. It has been estimated that no less than 25,000 aliens will be brought into the country from Indonesia, Bangladesh and neighbouring countires to work on these projects. At the end of the day, only a handful of the UMNO cronies will benefit from these five mega projects.

I am most surprised that our former PM, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, endorsed the project! A self-glorifying project that benefits not the masses but only a handful of the umnoputras!

The masses have voiced out vociferously against the multi-storeyed mega project. No less than 200,000 sound-minded citizens have thus far protested and more will be protesting against the white elephant project.

If the proposed four super-duper highways are going to be implemented, then it must be toll-free and not to tax the people any further. They can use the Petronas money to fund the project.

How could not the PM know about this project? He announced it in the Parliament and moreover he is the Chairman of PNB!

Let us save the money for the rainy day and channel it for human development of the unemployed, upgrading of the standards of local universities and offering more scholarships to all the sons and daughters of Malaysians regardless of race and religion who qualify for entry into them. With output of better qualified human resources in the future, they will be able to contribute and spur the country into an industrialised economy by 2020.

The proposed ETP fails to give expression to how it is going to attain a high income economy. Nor does it mention nor propose any plan to attract and set up high-tech industries into the country. We cannot build up nor enhance the income of the masses if we are going to remain content with the labour intensive or screw-driver industries that are prevailing in the country now.

For a successful 1 Malaysia to be realised, all Malaysians must be treated alike without prejudice by virtue of their ethnic and religious backgrounds. The education system has to be revamped and liberated for children of all races to mix, intergrate and study together. In this way, racial harmony among these leaders of tomorrow is enhanced for the betterment of the country.

Let us criminalise all forms of religious, political and social extremism or bigotry for the sake of the country's survival and prosperity.

United, we will succeed; divided, fall. Let us seriously save for the rainy day and channel our funds to really projects that benefit the masses.

Is There LIfe After Death?

Most people dread death. Yet to a minority, death is regarded as the start of a journey to heaven where they expect to meet the Almighty God, the saints, the angels, their kins and kiths who passed on before them.

Different religions offer the adherents their respective salvific paths to heaven - sometimes, also known as paradise, vineyard of the Lord, Kingdom of God, the new Jerusalem etc. where the privileged will shed tears no more, enjoy peace and harmony, devote their time to worshipping God and share with Jesus in the reign of His KIngdom.

In His infinite mercy, God sent his only begotten Son to the world that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life. (John 3:16).

Christians are promised this hope for eternity by believing in Jesus as the Son of God, His commandments and His teaching, Besides, they are obliged to love their neighbours as well as their enemies and love God with all their heart, mind and soul if they wish to be eligible for entry into God's kingdom when their lives come to an end on earth.

When righteous men die, their bodies come to a standstill. The souls depart therefrom and they either proceed to heaven or hell depending on how well they lived out their lives while alive on earth.

However, the Catholics believe that when humans die, most of their souls will undergo purification in Purgatory where all their sins will be cleansed before entering and joining our Lord Jesus. The gate to heaven is narrow and the path to damnation is wide and most souls in the first instance will destine to hell, where the souls will be excluded from the proximity of God for ever and ever.

The souls in heaven and hell will be raised during parousia, that is the second coming and returning of our Lord Jesus in glory to judge the living and the dead. All souls will be judged according to merits and demerits of what they did and lived out their lives while alive on earth.
The sheeps will be separated from the goats. The sheeps will inherit the Kingdom while the goats Hell where they shall face punishment in perpetuity.

According to the Book of Revelation, the righeous souls will be resurrected in glorified bodies to reign alongside the the triune God eternally.

Those souls in Hell will also be raised and be given a chance whether they would repent or not otherwise they would be cast into the lake of fire ad infinitum. According the Holy BIble, the souls of the 'goats' will be ushered into Hell perpetually.

May the Almight God continue to bless His people on earth. Let His salvific revelation be made known and spread to convict people throughout the four corners the world.

History of Malaysia

History is an interesting subject. It helps fortify one's background knowledge of the rise and fall of a country; for instance, the United Kingdom. It used to be so mighty and strong that it almost colonised a quarter of the land masses by the close of the 19th century. By the middle part of 20th century, she lost most of the colonies as fast as they acquired.

History used to be my pet subject because the teacher who taught our class was very inspiring and impactful in her delivery as well as her enthusiasm and eagerness in making the class understand what she was teaching.

History repeats itself. But I am not too sure with the adulterated version of history, one can really rely on the substance of historical records and facts.

Japan attempted to change her history but there was so much of resistance that she became cautious nd hesitant in trying to blot out some of the unpleasant events that took place during the world wars.

I used to learn about Malayan history - how Parameswara founded Malacca, the sultanate, the visit of Admiral Cheng Ho, the flourishing trade with China, Princess Ling Po, the legends of Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat etc,

But today, I am not too sure whether school chilren are learning the same stuff that I went through. I understand that certain parts of the Malayan history had been taken out.

History should never be changed. It must remain for the future generations so so that they can learn the lessons of the past from history.

I just hope that the Malaysian education ministry should be sensible not to embark on history bashing and have them replaced with rubbish that never took place.

High Income Economy

What a rhetorical hype from our PM who recently announced the Economic Transformation Plan during the UMNO Assembly

I just could not find any relevance how his proposed ETP could attain the gargantuan vision of creating a high income economy when the plans were not specific and non-directive to meet the goal. All that I could find was builidng the 100-storeyed building and the four highways across the country to improve the communication infrastructure. And our former PM 2M had the temerity to endorse his prodigee's dismal programme of great economic disaster.

I expected the PM to come out strong with concrete plans on human development by improving the general standards of our public institutions of higher learning. History around us does show the significant corelation between sound education and the technological success of an economy. Let us look at Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and the wakening dragons of the Peoples' Republic of China and the leaping tiger of India.

The ETP projects are not likely to benefit the country's growing populace of young people. Many of the local products of local universities are already being banished into the pool of unemployed and this number is growing by the year. They just do not possess the employable skills like oral communication in the English Language and the necessary required skills as demanded by the private sector. Our local universities are not just churning our the types of manpower with the necessary industrial skills to meet the demands of the private sector.

I just cannot see the pertinence of engaging 300+ English teachers from England to teach our young to be proficient in the language. Many of our local leachers who are retired are just as good if not better than many of these young English teachers. The latter may be good at speaking but I am not too sure if they write as well as they speak. Why waste unnecessary money when we can benefit the retired local English Language specialist teachers. The Education Ministry perhaps does not want to be seen or criticised for engaging the local non-Malay English Language teachers.

Is the Government of the day so blind as not to see this rot? Is she going to continue practicing her discrimatory economic policy to enrich the select cronies in UMNO and ignore the plight of the masses? Does she realise that amongst the people of Malaysia, there are not only poor Malays and Bumiputras but also poor Chinese and Indians who require care and help. Is she not aware of the economic monster that she has created over the past 53 years? We cannot have the majority ethnic group continue to live on clutches and depend on governmental unending finanical and economic aids funded by the tax-payers. This policy is going to destroy the Malays. in the wrong run.

The mega projects in my view are not going to benefit the locals. I would foresee that jobs created from the said projects are more likely to benefit the alien than the local workers. I would anticipate that when fully operational, the 'Big Five' are likely to deploy around 25,000 foreign workers. This means, the huge monthly financial outflow to the countries of origin of the said workers. Basing on RM1000/- per month per head, we are talking about an outflow amounting to RM25 million per month or RM330 million per year nd RM1.65 bn in five years.

With the number of aliens added to the fast growing population, social services are likely to be compromised. Housing and medical services shall be stretched. Besides, crime rate may escalate.
What will happen to these workers when the mega projects are completed? Many of them will be sent home while many may stay back due to marriages to local people.

The last 35 years saw the mushrooming of screw-driver smoke-stacked industries across the country. The transfer of technology is so minimal. I just dread how many of those who are still working in these industries have acquired adequate knowledge, experience and skills to be able to assemble a TV set, a motor-car, a picture tube, a pump or an electric motor or an air-conditioner on his or her own single effort?

To produce a high income economy, we need high tech. jobs and not labour intensive jobs. Until the authority recognises this factor, we are not going to achieve our visional objective. Let us not kid and continue to pull wool over the eyes of the populace. You can deceive some people some of the time, some people most of the time ; but certainly not all the people all the time.

Cut down the unnecessary expenditure on defence and infrastructure development. Divert the funds to improve on human development and raise general standards of technical education in the country's instututes of higher learning. Stop cheating and reduce the rate of corruption. Unless we do this, I see little hope of earning extra ringgits in my pocket.

Please eradicate corruption at all levels of the Government machinery and try to save for the rainy day. Tighten all the loop-holes through which public money may be or is drained perenially. Just cannot figure out how RM23 million was loaned out to students who never apply for it and who may not even exist in this world.

Resurrection of Altantuya's Homicide

Of late the Altantuya's case resurfaced in London with Balasubramaniam's threat to bear all in the name of justice.

MACC was invited to meet with Bala in London with a view to taking statements from him through his panel oflawyers. But the AG Chamber advised MACC against the proposition as statements taken in another country would not be admissible in the local court of law! As a result, MACC turned town the invitation. What a blatant excuse!

According to Bala, our PM and Abdul Razak befriended Altantuya in connection with the purchase of the two submarines from France. Abdul Razak had been acquitted and is now in the United Kingdom pursuing a course.

That left our PM who must face the eventual indictment for the vaporisation of Altantuya through the use of the lethal C4 explosive. It must be borne in mind at the material time, our PM was the Defence Minister who definitely had the power to direct the issuance of the deadly C4.

Now there was speculation that PM's spouse Rosmah was present at the scene of the homicide. And this allegation had been relegated to the limbo through high level conspiracy involving the AG Chamber, the Police, the Military, the Defence Ministry and the muted press media. No wonder news concerning the overseas resurrection of Altantuya's case received scanty publicity in the local newspapers.

Quo Vadis? Whither Goeth Thou? Only God knows what is going to happen next? The publics are expecting a definite conclusion of the homicide. Those involved must pay the price for the hideous crime commited by high ranking politicians in the country.

Let the spirit of Altantuya be emancipated and let the truth prevail. It is through truth that we be set free.

Election Commission - Reformation

The Hulu Selangor and Sibu By-elections were just over. The former constituency went to BN while the latter to Pakatan Rakyat. In the Sibu by-election, DAP won by just slightly less than 400 votes after taking into consideration the 2500 odd postal votes.

The two by-elections exposed the good, the bad and the ugly policies and practices of the BN and PR. Besides, the campaigning modes were different between West and East Malaysia.

Each time a by-election is held, it pains me to note that so much public money is being poured by BN into the election machinery. The profligate abuse of its power by using manpower, assets and services of the various ministries was most unwarranted and should be investigated.

The BN was desperate to win the Sibu seat. So great was this intent that PM Najib cracked to certain voters, "If you help me , I will help you". And, this incident was being videoed and circulated in the internet.

The results in Hulu Selangor and Sibu had certainly antagonised many members of UMNO who accused that the Chinese of not being thankful for the many opportunities and wealth that they had amassed over the years.

Unfortunately, these scum-bags did not realise that the Chinese in general are by nature industrious and hard-working and they use their brains and sweats to eke out their livelihood. Besides, the political leaders must realise that they can fool most Chinese some of the time, some of the Chinese most of the time but they cannot fool all of them all the time.

What PM Najid did on the eve of the election in Sibu was rather odd. He obviously did not realise that most Chinese souls are not for sale. They would want justice, equitable oportunities to be accorded to their children to pursue their desired courses in the local universities, a competitive business environment, employment in the civil service, police and armed forces, incorrupt administration and NOT to be treated as second-class citizens and pendatang.

BN has over the years milked much of the natural resources of Sabah and Sarawak - particularly timber and petroleum. Basing on the developments taking place or have taken place during the past four decades, the East Malaysians have certainly felt cheated. And this swing to PR is also a strong message to the BN that the people are not happy with the CM who has been milking the Sarawak State's resourses almost dry.

Change is certainly needed in the two Eastern States in all fronts from the sore religious issue of Allah to agricultural and industrial developments. Substantial amount of the revenue realised from the sales of the States' resources must be ploughed back for social economic development of the people and the two states. Unless this is done, the BN will face a bleak future in securing the support of the people there.

From the results of the above two by-elections, it is clear that majority non-Malay were disenchanted with the BN leadership who has encouraged rampant corrupt practices, inefficient judiciary and police population force, the highly discriminatory, racialistic and religionistic public policies. Most frustrating among the non-Malays is that most of their children could not obtain scholarships and or pursue courses of their choice at local universities. The Government has forgotten that they work hard and contribute taxes to the treasury. Yet, others benefit from the fruits of their hard labour.

In view of the above, many parents have to work doubly hard in order to support their children to pursue and obtain qualications in their desired programmes.

In the said two by-elections, I just wonder whether the officers of EC were sleeping, incompetent or biased by not taking actions to ensure that the elections were fairly carried out. Money politics was blantant and rampant and yet the EC officers just turned turned blind and deaf to what went on before them.

There were prevalent financial enticements offerred to schools, temples, organisatins and individuals with a view of 'buying their favour' to vote for BN. If this is not a form of election rigging, what is?

Another highly despicable practice is the allowance of postal votes from those in the military or police forces. This practice has caused a lot of suspicion among the populace and it must be stopped altogether in future elections if fairness and transparency are to be upheld. In my view, postal votes are part of the process of gerrymandering.

Why is it so difficult to encourage all those in the military and poice forces on transfer to change their addresses to where they are physically stationed and cast their votes in the constituency wherein their respective stations or camps are located. I just cannot see why this cannot be done.

The other despicable conduct of the Election Commission is to purposely delay and with-hold the announcement of the election results when BN candidates lost in the election.

A point in reference is the last General Election in which the results in Selangor and Wilayah and the Sibu by-election where the people had to wait until the wee hours of the morning before the results were broadcast. This is most uncalled for. It does not reflect the independence of the EC.

Unscrupulous JMC and MC of High Rise

This article is written on the strength of the writer's actual experience in facing head 0n and his undaunted and selfless efforts in uncovering the mal-practices of a certain Management Corporation of a Mixed Development Project, of which he is one of the parcel owners, in the heart of the city and is pleased to share his experiences with property owners of high rise buildings.

So, property owners – beware of the unlawful sale & lease of common areas by unscrupulous JMC or MCs.

Many owners of high rise flats, condominiums and mixed development projects do realize that they are not getting a fair deal and treatment from their respective Joint Management Councils (JMCs) or Management Corporations (MCs) which, in many cases, not only fail to provide proper maintenance service to their respective properties but also fail to provide regular reports and accounts thereof despite complaints were lodged with them and to the authorities.

No wonder we often read that lifts in high rise buildings were not functioning, fire-extinguishers were not periodically serviced or not serviceable, rubbish was not disposed regularly, poor security services, poor lightings along the corridors and verandahs, water pressure low and break-ins, roof leakages, sewage pipe got clogged up thereby causing floods etc

In view of poor services, many owners just refuse to pay their monthly maintenance charges to the JMCs or the MCs as the case may be. But, ultimately they still have to pay up when they applied for strata titles for their respective properties.

This unsavory and unsatisfactory state of affairs is attributed to the general disinterest and nonchalance of unit owners who tend to leave others to look after their interests. It is time that they take an interest in the performance of JMCs or MCs by pressing and hounding them to produce management reports, accounts, attend AGMs and volunteer their services to serve in the JMCs or MCs. In this way, they will come to know and appreciate what is going on and take necessary actions to rectify the wrongs, untoward practices and improve the maintenance service.

Look not therefore what the JMC or MC can do for you but rather what you can do for the JMC or MC.

I am one of the parcel owners in Wisma Indah which is a mixed development project that is situated at the junction of Cockrane Road and Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur. The said project was open for booking sometime in 1991 and was completed in due time for occupation in 1993. Thereafter, pending the issuance of strata titles, the said property was managed by one company named, say, X

X at the material time was the appointed sales agent for a certain developer, Y. After vacant possession, X was appointed by Y to manage Wisma Indah for several years before one of the owners Z took over the management in mid 2001. From X to Z, no AGM was ever convened. The Councils comprised solely family members and relatives way into February 2009, when Z's cronies were voted out.

During its terms of office, X purportedly made itself out to be the owner of all the common areas of Wisma Indah and ‘sold’ many of the basement parking lots to some parcel owners by way of creatively drafted SPAs at varying and ridiculous prices from RM15.00 to RM15,000.00 per parking lot.

In the course of investigation, it was revealed that the Z had abused its authority by converting a certain area - which was reserved, planned and pre-approved by the authority for a food court – into a show-room for sale of motor cycles and office without the prior knowledge and consent of all the other parcel owners and worst of all without the approval of the authority . And all this time, Z has not paid nor is presently paying any rental for usage of the food-court area for the past decade to the MC

The matter has been reported to the authority. From what the writer learned , DBKL served notice in mid-January 2010 to Z to clear, remove and vacate within two weeks all its goods and paraphernalia from the said show-room and surrender the said property back to the MC; otherwise, DBKL could fine Z up to RM20,000.00 and for each day the directive is not complied with, an additional fine of RM500.00 will be imposed.

Surprisingly, Z merely ignored the DBKL directive. Thus far no action has been taken by the authority although a few months have elapsed and the dateline past. This thereby has not only deprived the unit owners of the food court facilities but also rental income for the present Management Corporation.

Under the circumstance, the parcel owners of Wisma Indah would want to know from the authority whether the present MC is entitled to claim from Z for all the previous years’ rental for converting and using the food-court area as his show-room.?

Secondly, they would want to know whether the X and Z have the power or right to dispose of the common areas of Wisma Indah without the prior knowledge and approval of the units owners?

Z and its associates had claimed that they had had ‘purchased’ more than 70 parking lots in the basement area, which, according to the approved building plans, forms part of the common area.

In all the SPAs signed between Z and X, there exists a common clause providing that in the event the SSB could not effect transfer of the several ‘sold’ lots to the buyer(s), the X is obliged to refund whatever money so received to the buyers.

We hope that the authority would respond to the above matters seriously for the benefit and protection of all the innocent parcel owners of Wisma Indah.

It is generally believed that the above happenings and practices do not just occur in Wisma Indah alone. Perhaps, what that came to light in Wisma Indah with all the dubious and devious transactions taking place all these years may well represent a tip of the iceberg; beneath which majority of property owners are ignorant and have been deceived for years on end by unscrupulous JMCs or MCs.

Authorities should and must act fast and stem out such illicit practices and activities.

Owners of properties are advised to take a special interest in the meantime to check on the performance and activities of JMCs, or MCs and ensure that they get what they pay for monthly.

Besides, there are also property managers in Kuala Lumpur which practically never or hardly provide proper maintenance service but continue to charge the owners since day one of taking vacant possession.

Where is Justice

Today's Star (12 April 2010) reported that World renown pathologist Dr Pornthip of Thailand who performed a post-mortem on Tan Beng Hock's exhumed body had been harrassed and threatened by certain quarters to stay away from testifying at the coming trial against MACC which was implicated for causing the death of Teoh Beng Hock while under its detention.

Now we have Nazri saying that Dr Pornthip was a liar. What qualification did he have to defame such an authority? I think Dr Pornthip should institute action against this Nazri for defamation. His remark was not only tortuous but uncalled for, subjudicial and unbecoming of such a man of his position.

No judges in the world would make such a remark without real evidence or any substantiable fact. In my opinion he was just uttering rubbish.

Now the same person who called Dr Pornthip a liar earlier had asked her to furnish information of those who theatened her so that investigation and appropriate actions could be taken against those culprits. His action is now being echoed by the Home Affairs Minister and the Police. What sort of games these scumbages are trying to play if not trying to sow the seeds of injustice on the case.

The threat did not emanate from the Opposition nor members thereof. If ever the threats were made, they could only have come from UMNO and BN camps in their attempts to cover up the heinous crime committed by the MACC. Come on let us not play games here. Remember, these scums played the same game in Altantuya's killing. Before the case was investigated, the newspapers were carrying various speculative stories in an effort to confuse the public.

If the BN Government were to do anything at this stage or at any stage to block Dr Pornthip to come to Malaysia to testify the death of Teoh Beng Hock, I would just say that a grave injustice would have be committed. The stain will stick onto BN for many many years before it can be erased.

The implication for preventng Dr Pornthip is far reaching. What have BN got to hide? Yes it had successfully hidden the person who authorised the issuance of the C4 explosive that blew off the body of Altantuya, allowed the two jet engines to be taken out of the RMAF Base and sold to another country and covered up all the monies squandred through the GLCs and projects. Corruption has pervaded the entire structure of the Government's machinery.

No one in the right senses or no clean Government officer or official would want to hide criminals within their organisations. They will just tarnish the 'good' name of the organisations.

So let the law take its course and stop meddling with the case at this juncture.

Interreligious Committee

The BN Government have finally agreed to set up an Interreligious (IR) Committee under the Minister in charge of National Unity, Tan Sri Koh Tsu Khoon. The Committee which comprises representatives from various religious organisations like IKIM, MCCBCHST etc provides a useful forum for exchange of religious knowledge, discussion and ironing out problems and differences arising from interrelgious marriages, conversion, divorce and custody of children etc.

The said Committee in my view is long overdue. Nonetheless, it is better to be late than never.

As I see it, there already exists a IR wheel which is rotating or running on very smoothly for more than a decade; that is, the MCCBCHST. In order to get on with the tasks ahead, all that is needed is to nominate a respresentative from Islam to be a member of the Majlis. Reinventing another wheel takes time and may not be functioning as well as the Majlis.

As I see it, the IR Committee should not be too large in membership otherwise it will end up just another number game and it will fail in the end .

The primary objective of the Committee must be well-defined and focused. It should not operate as another political society or grouping. The IR Committee for effect must be action-oriented; that is to help deal with and solve many of the multireligious problems facing the people in Malaysia.

It is a good start and the Government should be lauded for the initiative. But, whoever participates in the IR Committee, he must come in with an open mind and not with an ulterior motive to grind.

No sooner was the Committee formed than a bucket of cold cold water being splashed at it by the DPM Muyiddin who said that the grouping had no power to effect any changes or on Islam as a religion. If that being the case, then the efforts of the Committee would be futile and a waste of good time. If the voice of the grouping was not going to be significant, why had it formed in the first place? There is what BN is damn good at it. Say one thing and negate it the next moment.

Come on steady lah. If the blokes up there at the helm cannot see by now the serious problems and confusions that you and your stupid ideas about religion have caused, then, you are not fit to govern. You are just not sincere. And, the masses are watching you. If you cannot make a small decision on such matter like interrelgious dialogue, then what is the use of coming out with big ideas like 1 Malaysia and NEM when you do not mean what you say?

I really look forward that the Committee meets soonest and make a representation to the PM and clarify the situation. The matter has to be settled otherwise ten years down the road, one will find nothing is changed for the betterment of society. Don't let the Committee be another NATO or another group of unprepared appointed by the unwilling to do the unnecssary.

Cats & Dogs in Pakatan Rakyat

Any reasonable man in the streets will be asking the question, "What the hell is going on among the members of Pakatan Rakyat?" They are not only destroying one another but also the Coalition at the ultimate end.

There were those who left because of reasons best known to them. There were those who were overcome by the temptation of money while many were enticed to cross over by the UMNO-led BN by promised carrots and greener pastures in the near future.

Deep in my heart, what happened in PR sickens and continues to sicken me to the core of my marrow. I am most disappointed that the two party concept has not be assimilated by the running dogs who could not tolerate the slightest inconvenience and criticisms caused by their colleagues.

The leadership must impress upon all the members of the coalition the need for cooperation and understanding that they are fighting for a cause far greater than the individual aspirations put together. It is about the survival of the people and the country at large; and, the two party system is the only effective democratic means of toppling the BN at the next or future elections.
The battle had started two years ago and let us not stop there. Let us continue in greater intensity to work towards the goal of attaining the two party system at the next election.

BN have come out with the 1 Malaysia Policy which is shrouded with lots of skepticism and suspicions and diffidence among the rakyat. The members of BN are still trying to understand the underlying assumptions of the policy. Actions are and seem to be in most instances inconsistent with the the epressed policy. While the policy exhorts the people to unite as one Malaysia, the politicians themselves are still identifying themselves as race first and the nationality second.

No sooner has the 1 Malaysia Policy been mooted than the announcement of the National Economic Model came on air. The Model is still nebulous and probably an extention or a disguise of the National Economic Policy. The impact will not be known soon soon. It will probably take a year or two to really gauge the true intention, spirit and sinscerity of the Model's originator. Only tell will be the true judge of the Model.

It is not uncommon to note that each PM comes with highly idealistic slogans but at the end they are just fit for the ears and not the people of Malaysia.

Malaysia is rich enough for every one; yet the UMNOputras want to amass a fortune through various devious means during their terms of office. In the course, billions of ringgits have been siphoned off into the private pockets of these unscrupulous and dishonest politicians. Meanwhile the people are not enjoying and benefitting from the resources of the country. This is outright unfair and great robbery of the country's rich resources.

So the people in PR must realise. Time is running out and we have to look for an alternative solution to this senselss plundering of the country's wealth. It is most disgusting and disappointing despite the endowed riches in the country, the per capita income cannot match that of Singapore, Taiwan and Korea! What have the UMNOputras be doing? They are really cheating the people.

It is time that members of PR act above their personal interests. They must re-dedicate themselves to the progress and development of the people of Malaysia. Great sacrifices are needed for the attainment of greater things to come.
