It was indeed sad that our policeman shot an innocent and helpless single mother in Shah Alam five times besides using his booted feet to kick, stamp and broke her ribs.
What sort of policeman are we having in the country? From the press conference, I can only come to the conclusion that the SOG must be sick in his head. He must be charged for attempted murder and cashiered from the police force.
The innocent must be protected and feel safe to move around and about in the country. Otherwise, the country will agravate and degenrate into an anarchy where lawlessness rules the day.
The victim was unarmed. She was not trying to harm nor threaten the police constable on duty. If he suspected that she was up to no good, he could have asked her to step out of the car and had her apprehended and taken to the nearest police station for interrogation but certainly not shooting an innocent woman at point blank. This is tantamount to bullyism.
By denying and protecting the PC, our Home Minister had acted unprofessionally. He could have uttered omething more palatable to assure the angry public that he would investigate the report and if there was justification, he would see that justice be meted out.
By making a stupid statement, he certainly had "jatohed" standard.
It is good that the victim is contemplating to sue the police in seeking justice not only for herself but also for the country.
Let all servants of public authorities be aware that Malaysia is a civilised country and we have a responsibility to govern the country with justice, compassion and benevolence.
