I was having a cup of coffee one evening at the Megamall Starbuck. That place is always packed with yuppies who would discuss anything and everything under the sun.
Seated next table to me was a group of four deeply engaged in serious discussion on when Malaysia was going to be bankrupted at the rate the UMNO/BN putras were squandering the national resources.
What alerted my attention was when one of them posited whether one day Malaysia would end up like what was happening in MIddle-East and North Africa (MENA).
According to his views, there was a possibility if the UMNO/BN imbeciles did not change their attitudes, policies and ways of governing the country. The coalition comprised after ll a host of venomous vipers, crocodiles and asses. Nothing good was going to come out from them. Day in and day out, they delved on unproductive work like picking on quarrels, fomenting inter-racial and inter-religious disharmony and conceiving how to make money for themselves.
Look what happened recently - EPF invested the Malaysian workers' hard earned savings of more than 400 million pounds to purchase a building in London. The public hardly knew about this. What use and to what extent can this concrete mass benefit the rakyat of Malaysia? Who will ever see or use the building? Would ths acquisition help enrich the contributors? I think the MACC should look into this dubious transaction.
Now, the scums expressed intent to spend another RM700 million on purchase of the lastest arms. Do we need these arms? Why not spend it on education and awarding scholarships to all Malaysians to pursue their higher education?
"I felt extremely uncomfortable over the richest GLC -, that is, Petronas where only the PM has had access to its vault and expenditure. The crude that is being extracted belongs to the country and the people and therefore, no one commoner can claim exclusive proprietary right over the natural resources of the country."
In silence, I could not agree more. The veil must be removed and there must be absolute transparency and accountability of the PM in using the Petronas money. The PDA must be revoked so that the rakyat can benefit from the operating profits of Petronas. The only way is to vote the UMNO/BN out in the coming GE.

The Kuching SMF Rally for Religious Freedom
It is just befitting that CFM finally decided to refuse acceptance of the 35000 copies of the desecrated Al Kitab that were detained by the Home Ministry two years ago. What CFM did is both honorable and the rightful thing to do - to send a signal to the power-that-be and to knock some sense into the Home Minister in particular that what he did was unconstitutional, sacrilegious and disrespectful. He has failed to realise that Malaysia is a multi-racial, multi-religious and multi-cultural country.
Despite the High court had decided that it was unlawful to detain the imported BM Bibles, the Home Minister persisted in being ridiculously defiant in not complying with the Court's verdict to release the detained BM bibles unconditionally. Through pressures from the Sarawakian publicians and the rakyat at large particularly the Christians there, Hissam decided to release the holy books but with conditions that the detained holy books had to be stamped with the phrase, "For Christianity" with the official stamp of the Home Ministry and the endorsement "Dengan Perintah, Menteri Dalam Menteri, 16 March 2011..
The lame excuse for the deliberate delay in releasing the BM Bibles was attributed to the pending appeal against the "Allah" High Court judgement. The appeal case should not have been initiated by the Home Ministry which should have moved on and allowed the various religions to continue to use the word Allah. If this is not religious persecution, what is?
The SFM rally held two nights ago in Kuching showed to the power-that-be the great frustsration, grievance and dissatifaction of the Christians in the amateurish handing of the BM Bibles case by the Home Ministry and therefore the UMNO/BN Government.
The ludicrous decision of the Home MInistry was also an indirect attempt of telling the people of Sarawak when coming to practising their religions and reading their Bible, they should not use the Bahasa Malaysia. What a conflict of language policy we have for the country! Double standard?
The UMNOputras do not want the Sarawakians and Sabahans to read and know more about their religious teaching contained in their holy bibles. By reading them in BM, that is tantamount to being prejudicial to the security of the country! What bloody bull-shit are the UMNOputras uttering!
As Christians, we are always encouraged to read the Bibles in the language in which we are proficient. The people in Sarawak, Sabah and even to a great measure in Peninsular Malaysia are adept in the BM and they should be encouraged to read their Bibles in BM. If this cannot be done, then we have another latent ridiculous policy; that is, linguistic persecution of the people from reading or using the national language.
Muslims regardless of their national origins should similarly be encouraged to read the Al Koran written in the language in which they can read and understand and not to read one that they cannot understand.
I am told and learn that the Al Koran exists in the Arabic Language. Translations are not allowed and muslims are forbidden to read them. From my observations there are millions of Chinese in PRC who have embraced the Islamic religion and Al Koran have been translated into Chinese. The muslims in PRC read and understand quite well as to the contents in the Al Koran because they are proficient in the Chinese Language. Besides, they also learn Arabics so that they can recite the various Koranic verses.
We must be sensible in the pursuit of our faith and religion. Dogmatism, irrationality and hippocracy tend to kill the spirituality of one's faith. The Almighty God has given us His wisdom, intelligence and talents to know and serve Him. Hence, His Revelations have been translated and disseminated worldwide so that His subjects can understand who He is, His teachings and requirements for salvation and entry to His Kingdom.
From my two decades involvement in iterreligious dialogue activities, I notice that many of my muslims brethren and sisters recite their Al Koran very well but they confide in me that they really do not know what they recite because they do not profiicent in Arablics. That being the case, I gather many muslims in the country and other countries do not really know the Al Koranic teaching and the God's commands. Could this be one of the reasons why there there is so much of turbulence in Islamic countries like Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Yumen, Bahrain, Syria, Pakistan and Afghanistan where there is so much of unlove, hatred and animosity; where suppression and oppression of human rights are so prominently prevalent; and, where tyrants and despots rule their respective countries with iron fists. Besides, the leaders are corrupt and avaricious and have amassed so much of wealth during their reigns.
I just hope that Malaysia does not degenerate into any of the above-named countries where the people are so impoverished, marginalised and destined to the ghettos of modernity. The masses are unemployed, socially displaced and ecnomically discriminated. Besides, the education they receive or have received do not seem to meet the employment requirements or training needs of the private sector. Most of them accordingly are unemployable - this is a serious social time bomb.
UMNO would wish to perpetuate its rule by suppressing the masses, and making them dependent on them so much that without them, they will suffer or lose their status. privilege and opportunity to wealth acquisition and survival. This consciousness has been fostered and set a very dangerous culture of enriching oneself without having to work hard for it through embarking on the despicable path of corruption, perdition and avarice.
UMNO/BN must go and give way to the professionals to run the country for a change if not a transformation towards meritocracy, transparency and accountability.
The 13th GE is around the corner. It is going to be lucky for some and unlucky for others. But the tilting to our desired futurity depends on how you vote. If you so decide for transformation, then vote wisely for justice, professionalism and progress in the coming GE.
Let the Sarawkian brethren and sisters show to the UMNO/BN cronies and imbeciles that you can make a difference of not being labelled as a "fixed deposit" for BN. May you deposit them into the limbo on this coming State Election on 16 April 2011.

Abide by the Golden Rule
The whole conspiracy stinks. This merely reveals and shows the hollowness and bankruptcy of the UMNO/BN leadership for all these years. For power sake, I am of the belief just now that they would go all out at whatever cost to bring down DSAI politically.
The first time before 2008, Mahathir succeeded in putting DSAI away for quite a few years in prison. He suffered the black eye. The IGP ignominiously resigned from the top post from the RMP and eventually his conscience must have pricked him so much that he had to seek forgiveness from his wife. Meanwhile, the trumped up first sodomy charge was dropped for want of substantive evidence.
DSAI patiently served his term out and was released earlier for good behaviour while in prison. He came out, reorganised and fortified PKR's strength and caused the 2008 electoral tsunami which left the BN devastated by losing the 2/3 majority.
DSAI is indeed a force to be reckoned with and he poses a great threat to the future survival of the unholy and lop-sided alliance of the BN Government. Hence, the latter, particularly, UMNO wants to rid him from local politics at all costs by charging him the second time on the sodomy charge. And now the despicable video clippings trying to implicate DSAI in having illicit sex with a foreign prostitute at the prestigious Carcosa Hotel, patronised by the three Datuk T. What a shame! The nation is sick and tired of all these evil doings that are perpetrated to harm or injure another person from doing an honest and just service to the nation.
The Najib-Muyiddin partnership is no longer secure, if I may surmise. The foundation of the UMNO/ BN Government is feeling the tremour underneath. They are feeling shaky and uneasy at the prediction of the tsunamic outcome of the Sarawak State's election. The PM and his deputy would want to see CM Taib step down in advance of the electoral annihilation.
The detention of the 35,000 copies of the imported Alkitab was unconstitutional. The defacing and desecrating endorsements of the said Holy Bibles for the locals did not make any sense to the declared "Rule of Law" philosophy pursuant to the Rukun Negara.
The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Idris Jala, a confessed Christian, thought that what he did represented a great favour to the people of Sarawak. By stamping the phrase "For Christianity", which he compromised with the Home Minister, Idris revealed that his Christian teaching and Biblical knowledge left much to be desired.
Jesus Christ, our Saviour, before he was crucified, commanded his disciples and followers to disseminate His teaching and God's Word, to the four corners of the earth.
What and where did he derive his authority to defy the command of his Lord. Does he want to play god?
Under no circumstances shall God's Word and His teaching contained in Al Kitab or the Holy Bible be tempered with. Nothing shall be added to it or removed therefrom to create doubts and controversies to the readers and users of His Word.
Christians worldwide are not happy with the action of the UMNO/BN Government. A true and worthy disciple of any faith cannot serve two masters. Please do not mix politics with religion. Render to Caesar what that belongs to Caesar and to God what that belongs to God.
In the same token, muslims will never be happy if the similar phrase "For Muslims Only" is stamped on every Al Koran brought into the country.
Let our actions be guided by the time-tested golden rule, "Do not do unto others as you would not want others to do unto you".

Doctoring Incriminating Evidence is Criminal
Are the 3 Datuks so free as to embroil themselves so much in such vicious activity like video production not for leisure but to destroy someone's career or vocation? How could they threaten and intimidate someone to step down from politics when their bodies are filled with so much filth and dirt?
First the UMNO/BN failed to charge and incriminate DSAI on sodomy. The vivid mattress episode in my view brought great shame to Malaysia and its judiciary. The politicians really succeeded in turning the court into a circus.
The 2nd sodomy is going to fail again. No sane judge would ever imagine the possibiity of finding the sperm of Saiful in his anal tract. How did that happen? He must have lubricated his exhaust pipe with his sperm rather than to spend on KY.
Now failing that, the culprits tried to get the court to admit the DNA evidence obtained from toiletries taken from the prison years ago without DSAI's knowledge. This contrivance is most unthinkable and despicable. The court initially and rightly rejected the trumped up evidence as fast it withdrew the decision on appeal. Where is the credibility man...?
Now the video episode. I think the AG should institute charges against the 3 datuks for getting involved in the illicit production of pronography. They tried to incriminate DSAI by falsing a dead rat into his throat without finding out in the first instance where DSAI was at the material time when the video was shot.
Let us move forward man... and become an industrialised economy rather than wasting the public's time and money to delve into shameful act of conspiring to bring a man's life down.
The three datuks should be more worried about what is going to take place and unfold in the coming Sarawak state election rather than dabbling with the devilish srategy of destroying the life and career of an innocent man who has renewed, turned over a new leaf and dedicated himself to fighting for justice for the nation, hitherto wrought by imbecilic socio-economic policies, corruption and avarice. A man deserves to be forgiven for his past misdeed if he has repented.
Stop all this nonsense, please. The Malaysians are tired of this sort of sensationalism. Let anyone without any sin cast the first stone, you hippocrites, vultures and skunks.
If you UMNO/BN imbeciles still want to be like "katak dibawah tempurung", I am sorry for them for they will be eliminated and swept off the political field by the coming tsunami. The force as I foresee it shall be so intense that no amount of gerrymandering will alter the election's results.

Corruption Does not Pay
It is time that the CM Taib went. I am sure by now he has already smelled the rat of his downfall when both the PM and DPM had to rush unprecedentedly to Kuching to resolve and iron out the impasse.
The BN and therefore UMNO depend for their perpetual power on the success of the coming State's election in Sarawak. If a tsunami hits Sarawak like that in 2008 GE, that would be the surest and fastest way that leads to the immediate doom of the ruling government, which depends very much on the continued support of Sarawak and Sabah election outcome.
The whole world already know how corrupt and avaricious the CM Taib is. A lot of the resources of the state of Sarawak has been looted while innumerable locals are languishing in poverty in the interior jungles; particularly, the Bumiputras, who have been oppressed and suppressed ever since Sarawak joined Malaysia.
Through the articles and information disseminated by BMF and the Radio Sarawak, the CM Taib must realise that his days are numbered. He must step down and run for his life as Delilah is on her way to 'destroy' him.
To the Christians in Sarawak, Taib is a disgrace despite that majority of those domiciled are Christians. The confiscation and detention of the 35,000 copies of the Holy Bible, is most shameful and disheartening, courting contempt from Chritians from near and far. That shows how concerned the CM Taib is when coming to the spiritual development of the people in Sarawak,
The Home Ministry must be more open and magnanimous in its policy-decision. One just cannot prevent people from reading the Holy Bible. One can easily download the Alkitab from the internet. What is the point of stamping the phrase "For Christianity" on the Bible? This is tantamount to and can be constured as a mild form of persecution of the Christians.
By so doing, the Home Minister is just defacing the Holy Book - remember what God has revealed no one shall render it asunder. He must realise that we are all humans and if we try to play god, we will face him on judgement day.
Some people read the detention of the Alkitab is one strategy of dethroning the CM at the coming State election. The Feds are sending the signals to him that they are still in power in calling the shot. So heed therefore Taib to the signs of times. You and cronies shall be eliminated by the opposition party.
Well, people of Sarawak, it is time to secure and restore freedom and your inherent rights by showing the Feds that you determine who should rule the State. You have the power to throw the corrupt State Government out.
Vote wisely to protect the future of your children and your children's children, and the future of Sarwak which rests on your hands.

Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely
How true the time tested adage is. Look at the situations taking place in some of the third world countries led by corrupt dictators, whose only common concern is to milk and siphon for themselves as much resources from their respective countries' resources at the expense of the masses. The longer they stay in power, greater will be their created wealth. It is really frightening to see what is happening in Middle East and Northern part of Africa. The protest started in Tunisia spread rapidly to Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Libya, Yemen and now Syria.
The uprisings were fomented not by old people but by young and able adults who could not find employment for years on end. With the standofish and tyrannical leaders, which tend to be suppressive and oppressive in their style of management, these same masses have in due course become impoverished, lost their dignity, patience and self-esteem. In consequence, mass social discontent develops and proliferates to an intolerable proportion. The spontaneous spread of people's power became so strong a changing wind that it has brought down and contiunue to bring down several national leaders within weeks.
Because of the mass protests which took place at vantage places of various cities, they disrupted traffic and shops had to be forced to close. There were lootings going on and fights erupted between the security forces and the civilians which resulted in many being injured and killed. Tourists cancelled their tours and economies of affected countries suffer.
In my view looking beyond the border of mere protests, there is a great lesson to be learned. In governing a nation, it is important that that leaders be people oriented having consideration for their social economic welfare, be incorrupt and dedicated to the development and progress of the country.
Leaders should not be egocentric and despotic - merely caring for and enriching their own selfish interest. Besides, they must be altruistic in outlook and do things for the benefits of their citizens without regards to race, creed, religion and political affiliation. Human rights must be protected, advanced and developed to the highest possible potential. Bigotted racists and religionists shall have no place in decision and policy making within any governmental institution. Leaders at all levels must ensure that people's freedom of movement, expression and religion shall not be tampered with.
War is regrettable and lamentable. When war erupts, innocent lives are unavoidably killed; thereby reducing one's country manpower resources. Bereaved families will suffer when their bread winners are killed. Worst of all innocent civilians are being used as human shield against advance and modern warfare.
As I see it, human beings have never learned their bitter lessons from wars. No wonder history keeps on repeating itself; each time, in greater intensity and destruction. Should learned or educated people behave as such? If education produces people who cannot think for themselves and the good of others, then its policy must have failed the nation. Those in authority should revisit the prevailing policy and amend it where need be.
Dishonesty amd corruptibility are the two evilest pillars that invariably lead to the downfall of any nation in the long run. From what has been reported, each year billions of dollars have been illegally siphoned out of the country and parked in some tax haven countries. This has the effect of having less money for the national and human development. As a result, the people will suffer.
Our Malaysian leaders under the UNMO/BN regime are no different compared to those overseas countries currently plagued with mass protests. Billions of Ringgit are being squandered by these politicians through through jacked-up price purchases, investments and infrastructural. They continue to raid the EPF - the hard earned savings of workers - to bail out ailing or ailed GLCs and invest in purchase of expensive real estates overseas that the local people will never benefit from them. Corruption is languishing the country at all levels. If this continues unchecked, one fine day, Malaysia will wake up to find that they are on the brink of bankruptcy.
Let us look at the vast illicit amount of wealth that the CM of Sarawak has created for his dynasty as is reported by the media, Radio Sarawak and blog of BMF. The information is most revealing and calls for immediate investigative actions from the MACC and Bank Negara. The extent of money laundering is unimaginable for a man to have amassed such great fortune during one's lifetime. His assets worldwide must be confiscated and be returned to the people. That person and any such person shall be punished by the appropriate authority as a deterrent to others.
Let us get rid of corruption and corrupt leaders from our midst in a concerted effort to save one's country from plunging into despair, despondency and economic destruction.

Islamic Banking - A Myth or Delusion
Arabic Banking which has now graduated to become known as Islamic Banking.
In my view, if riba is not interest , as promulgated by the Grand Sheikh of Al Azhar University, Sayyed Muhammad Thantawi, then the whole concept of Arabic Banking; that is, being practised now just falls flat on the proponents’faces.
Worse of all, Arabic Banking and Islamic Banking have become synonymous and interchangeable in Malaysia. Somehow, the Malaysian Religionist Bankers prefer to use the term, Islamic Banking to refer to this rising, fast expanding and newly-found banking system.
And, the lecturers and scholars on Islamic Banking continue unabashedly to promote this new found banking system far and wide. When cornered, they just bluff their ways through using bombastic financial terms they can only understand.
In place of the purportedly illicit interest which conventional banks are paying out to their clients for fixed deposits, the Islamic Bank just replaces the said term by the familiar business term, ‘dividend’.
The rate of interest and dividend payable by both the conventional and Islamic Banks are comparable if not the same and they are calculated using the familiar formula, I or D = PRT/100 where I stands for Interest, D = Dividend, P for Principal, R for Rate of Interest and T the term.
At a certain seminar, I spoke out that Islamic Banking should and must be made to differ from conventional banking if it wishes to court consideration, attention or acceptance by those who are knowledgeable in banking, accounts or finance.
The computation and payment of dividend must be different and more than the illicit interest quantum paid by conventional banks. My argument is that dividend is based on profit generated through real, sound and honest management practices, which makes the dividend halal.
In order for Islamic Banking to stand alone and tall on the long term, there must be two or more dividend payments per year depending on the generated profits. In so doing, this practice will become more Islamic; that is, in consonance with the exhortations of Surah 3:130 and Surah 11:85 of the Holy Koran.
The Islamic Bank must guarantee firstly the minimum payment equivalent to the prevailing dividend rate which shall not be less than the illicit interest rate to the depositors as fixed by the central bank. Then, Islamic Banking must work out the profit and pay the second or third dividends to her depositors. In this way, Islamic Banking ensures that the money of the deposits shall multiply and not be nullified through inflation.

What Makes a Civilisation
This subject baffles and boggles the minds of all people in this world. This question comes out for debate and discussion perenially. Social scientists and economists from all walks of life annually delve into history, search through all the ancient books and literature and museums and archives of the world in quest for a reasonable answer to help the present turbulent world to restore its past and lost glory of yester-years.
We can go back to examine the past civilisations of the Sumerians, the Egyptians, the Indians. Chinese, Greeks, Romans, Arabs and the West.
One could find and realise that there are few common factors that made the past civilisations great and glorious.
In my view, it was not religions that made successful civilisations. It was not slavery, totalitarianism, subjugation of human rights, freedom, socio-economic suppression and deprivation.
As I delved into the past, I realised that where the governments were fair and just in their policy formulation and implementation, appreciated and recognised human dignity , values and efforts, their skills and experiences, invested in education and inculcated in their people socially acceptable values and applied science and techology, these were some of the common factors that contributed significally to the making of civilisations.
Let us analyse the rise and fall of the Arabic and Chinese Civilisations. The Arabs were great during the period 800 - 1200 A.D. They excelled in Science, Mathematics, Science etc. They had produced great Mathematicians, Scientists in the fields of Medicine, Chemistry and Physics. People from neighbouring countries converged to the middle East to seek out knowledge. The Arabs were able to expand through trades and Islam their expansionary visions and influence across India, Malaya, Indonesia and Southern Philippines and China and even Europe.
The ancient Chinese civilisation rose and fell easily from grace when the Europeans conquered China by doping the masses into inebriation and inertia through opium importation, consumption and adiction between the 17th and 19 century. In 1911, Chinese turned republic and communist. At the material time, democracy would not work nor capitalism. The people were weaken immeasurably in terms of nationalism, morality and discipline. They needed to undergo the processes of unlearning, training and retraining to inculcate the value of self-sacrfice, discipline, loyalty, determination and commitment to revive China.
During the past 25 years, the late Chairman Deng Xiao Peng brought about a socio-economic revolution by transforming the country from a totalitarian to a liberated socialist country. It embarked on a progressive but moderate social economic policy dedicated to world peace, bringing joy and happiness among the down-trodden and marginalised by helping the poor 3rd world countries like Africa, of fortifying its wealth through its industrialisation and modern infrastructural development programmes and equitable and of embarking on fair trade expansion with and to all countries.
China success story needs to be told and retold so that poor and weak governments of the world can learn and emulate how China revitalises its economy and overcomes the numerous social problems at home. Its agricultural and industrial programmes are successful. It now exports rice, fruits, vegetables and manufactured goods of types and is becoming the top four richest economies of the world. And this is attained within a matter of 25years that is, only one generation.
Can the Islamic countries including Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Bahrain, Libya including Malaysia, Southern Philippines, Myanmar, Southern Thailand and Indonesia look at the Chinese Model and see where they have gone wrong in their policies. Can they change for the better by providing more focus on human development, a more liberal social policy, encourage investments from advanced industrialised economies, jobs creation, better their education programmes and plough back the peoples' money for the welfare of the masses.
Sound religious teaching should be encouraged. It should be capable of moulding the masses to be responsible, positive, industrious, loyal and committed for national development and progress and not to make enemies of and/or 'kill' their neighbours
Religious bigots should be stopped from coming out with aphyxiating rules and regulations that stifle or tend to stifle mental, intellectual and emotional growth. By freeing the masses from these "strangulations", the people will gravitate towards better self-development into more responsible, caring and productive creatures rather than to hit the streets on protests against the hierarchies.
The 3rd World countries must put in place sound social economic policies and ensuring that they are equitably implemented regardless of race, creed and political affiliation. By so doing, that embark on the first step towards making their countries to be civilised and progressive.
Malaysia wake up and move to be an industrialised economy. She must step out of the racial cocoon and help the nation to be more competitive. Race-based policies are scourges of societies and not removed will doom their countries to misery, poverty and misery.

What is our Ex-PM Doing
Our Ex-PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohd is doing our country a great disservice. He is becoming more racialistic than when he was the premier of Malaysia.
Look at what he had done for the Malays through the unjust and unfair implementation of the NEP. Is he proud to see his countrymen who have been 'lamed' by the serious dependency mentality that he had successfully created by his selfish attitude of subjugating the Malays at the expense of the non-Malays during his regime that lasted more than two decades.
When I looked back, I felt that our Tun was not really helping the Malay masses. First he must bear in mind that he can never erase his roots as an Indian. He said that he is now a Malay and not a Mamak in accordance with the Constitution which he craftily amended to achieve his own ulterior motive. The other hidden and hideous motive for the amendment is to legalise all the pendatangs as Malays so as to deliberately increase the percentage of the Malay population so as to perpetuate his power craze and avarice.
Why are we still dividing the people who have fought for independence together, the communists, the Japanese invaders and worked hard for the progress and economic development of the country?
We should be proud to call ourselves as Malaysians rather than Malays, Chinese, Kadazans, Muruts or Dayaks. We should not discard the habit or practice of identifying ourselves as Malaysian Malay, Malaysian Chinese or Malaysian Indian.
The BN/UMNO Government introduced the NEP to eradicate poverty of all the races regardless of race and to eliminate identification of race with their vocations. But obviously, they have miserably failed. Instead, they have created a Frankenstein race out of their greed for power and their impatience for getting rich through grafts and without having to work hard for it.
Tun had served his term and he was one PM who had served the country for more than two decades. He retired in the nick of time when the majority of the citizens in the country was against his excesses, dictatorial leadership and high degree of intolerance for any threat to his premiership. Although he had contributed to the nation infrastructurally, he had also made many socio-economic blunders. He created the GLCs in an attempt to create entrepreneurs out of the Malays by continuing to bail them out with interminable fund injection when they failed and sustained losses. He plundered the EPF, the workers' sweat, to boost up the tin price and lost miserably as a result and put a death knell on the tin-mining indusstry. Besides, he abused his power to make use of Petronas's funds to build the twin towers and Putrajaya and rescuing the illing and mal-managed MAS.
In trying to bring about literacy amongst the Malays, he created a chasm and schism between the Malays and the non-Malays by depriving the latter of scholarships even though they were more than qualified and from pursuing their desired courses for which they applied. As such many non-Malay parents have to work extremely hard to enrol them in private colleges and universities.
In terms of employment within the public sector, the non-Malays have been discriminated against in terms of promotions. As such many were so disenchanted that they left the civil, police and military services. Tun was most successful in creating a highly bloated civil service which comprises almost 95% Malays who are mostly incompetent, lackadaisical and inefficient besides being corrupt.
The country has reached a danger level - being high on the corruption index, low in the tertiary education standards, high on the unemployed and unemployable graduates, low in their productivity index etc. Besides, the UMNO/BN coalition is tolerating the thousands and millions of foreign workers from 3rd world countries from whom we cannnot emulate or learn to improve our way of life or work habits or work skills. We are now being influenced by these people who will soon with the corrupt and nonchalent DBKL officers displace the locals into the woods. Look at Jalan Majid India, Chow Kit Road area, Petaling Streets and all the food courts. Please look at the racial displacement of the locals from the agricultural, industrial and construction sectors. What is the percentage of locals being employed in these sectors? Tun must bear responsibility for this social engineering blunder in an attempt to create a master Malay race with a serious clutch and dependency mentality for hand-out
Religion is like opium for the soul. An over-emphasis will stiffle interlectual growth and national growth. Look at what the religious bodies are doing - coming out with stifling fatwas that contribute to negative and unproductive human performance. The Malays are at the cross-road of a dilemma according to the pontifications of Syed Ali in his book, "Things in Common".
Tun if I may advise, you should act and behave like a elder statesman rather than behaving like one fanning the racial hatred of one race against the other. Give a chance to the present PM to develop his own style of leadership which is being stymied by your constant and controversial political rhetorics.
Can you be more positive for the country sake?
